DISAV is to provide the crew (and optionally transported troops) with voice communication inside and outside the vehicle (radio, cable or EVH - external vehicular handset). Its additional functions embrace digital data transmission for integration of vetronics into consistent voice and digital data exchange network, especially concerning  integration of subsystems for threats signaling (battlefield awareness) and radio transmission to other vehicles and upper level C2i systems. Such solution is compliant with the general trend of battlefield digitization, starting at the level of particular vehicle. Important feature of DISAV is minimal – almost no at all - requirements for enhancements of vehicles itself existing structures resulting in changes into structures, subsystems and even crew functions procedures and customs elaborated for day to day operations.
