ZSU-23-4 SHILKA upgrade program called BIALA vastly increases overall system combat capabilities. Advanced optronic targeting system brings revolution to the commanders situation awareness also capability operation with automated command&control system means automatic, real time orientation in battle theatre air-space with external sensors data brought directly to the firing unit. Operation in automated system allows for concealed combat performance until the moment of opening fire to airborne targets, thus giving guarantee of extending the battery life in combat. According to experts such operating mode increases the combat capacity by approx. 20%.
There is also a possibility of fully automated interception and tracing of targets with TV and thermal vision head. Use of sabot ammunition in ZSU-23-4MP increases the firing efficiency, making it possible to destroy armored helicopters and armored vehicles, while implementation of GROM A-A missiles increases the firing effectiveness of the system by the missiles range. |
