The GTD-350 turbine engine is of unconventional design. Normally, turbine engines have the combustion chamber situated just behind the compressor, whereas in the GTD-350 this chamber is placed behind the compressor. Thanks to such an arrangement, the engine shaft gets shorter, thus permitting higher speeds of rotors, reducing the engine specific weight and improving the engine economic qualities.
