The T-55A Main Battle Tank is a powerful, mobile and heavy armoured vehicle intended for use with break-through operation. It has conventional design with driver\'s compartment in front (left side), the combat compartment in the middle and power system in its rear part. It is provided with a 100 mm two-plane stabilised gun, coaxial 7,62 mm machine gun SGMT. It can also be outfitted with a 12,7 or 14,5 mm heavy machine gun. The crew of 4 men is well protected by an all welded homogenous steel hull and one piece casting turret. The tank is provided with NBC protection system.
